What to Do If You Smell Gas?
If you smell propane near your tank or inside your home, take the following steps immediately:
- Check the Tank Gauge:
If the tank is empty, a propane odor may be present, you should reach out to us for delivery. - If the gauge shows propane is still in the tank, or if you hear gas escaping, proceed with caution.
- Leave the Area Immediately:
Evacuate everyone from the area without delay. Move to a safe location away from the suspected leak. - Avoid Flames or Sparks:
Do not operate lights, appliances, phones, or any electrical switches. Even a small spark could ignite the gas. - Call for Help:
Once you’re in a safe location, call 911 or contact NVP right away.
How can I check my propane tank level?
Most tanks have a gauge under the lid. If you’re unsure how to read it, we’re happy to walk you through it or check it during a visit.
Do Propane prices change?
Propane prices respond quickly to any situation that might affect supply and demand. Some examples are unexpectedly cold or warm weather, supply interruptions or excess production. These changes may be reflected in the wholesale price we pay for the propane that we deliver to you, and consequently, in the prices you pay for such propane.

Proper Disposal of Motor Oil, Antifreeze & Fuel
